Jersey College for Girls has been officially accredited as a Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) Dual Career Centre, a recognition of our ongoing dedication and success in nurturing both the academic and athletic potential of our students.

The programme, backed by Sport England, supports young sportspeople on the talent pathway to have the opportunity to gain qualifications alongside their sporting pursuits, follow other interests, as well as further their personal development.

11 students in Years 11 to 13, who play sports at a regional or national standard, ranging from Roller Skating to Athletics, Swimming, Shooting/Air Rifle, Cricket, Football, Gymnastics and Triathlon, have been selected to benefit from the scheme.

Katie Howell, Director of Sport at JCG, said: "This prestigious accreditation places us among an elite group of institutions that provide tailored and bespoke support for talented young athletes striving to excel in both their education and sport. Our unique approach includes mentoring, and individualised guidance to ensure student athletes can successfully balance the demands of their sports and academic studies."

Carl Howarth, Principal, stated: “At Jersey College for Girls, we are proud to support the next generation of sporting talent, equipping them with the skills, resilience, and education needed to achieve greatness in both their chosen sport and future career paths."

As a Dual Career Accredited school site, JCG will be an important extension of the network of universities that already partner with TASS, delivering core support services - including nutrition, lifestyle support and Psychology - to more than 600 student-athletes each year.

Meanwhile for JCG, the recognition of becoming a TASS Dual Career Accredited Site is expected to be beneficial by attracting a greater number of talented athletes and building connections with other local sporting institutions.
